Overview

Visitor Tracking is the key feature of FeatPaper that helps you unveil who are the visitors and when, and how they viewed your documents. You can identify the visitors and analyze their engagement on individual level and understand your customers better. This provides a powerful tool for sales and CRM team to understand their prospects and wow them with insights.

How it works

Visitor tracking is to track, distinguish, and analyze the visitors of your documents. The key value used for visitor tracking varies by the type of the link you shared.

If you activate the lead form without selecting any fields, all visitors will be marked as “Anonymous


Visitor list

The visitor list provides document analytics of individual visitors. While aggregated analytics give you insights into how overall visitors viewed your document, this list focuses on how specific visitors engaged with it.

Visitor Information

Identify visitors' personal information such as name, email, company, and phone number. Type of information varies by lead form fields you've selected.

Interaction History

You can also check specific actions taken by visitors such as below:

  • Communication history: If a visitor used any communication tool you’ve integrated in the viewer, it will show next to the visitor information.

  • Memo: If a visitor shared your document with a memo, it will show the memo icon.

  • Download: If a visitor downloaded your document, it will show the download icon.

Interaction stats

Checking interaction status of individual visitors is a great way to set prioprities for "more potential" or "more enthusiastic" prospects.

  • Interaction level: It represents how much a visitor engaged with the document in the range of cold, warm, and hot. To learn more about how these stats are calculated, please visit What does HOT/WARM/COLD mean?

  • Duration: It shows how much time a visitor spent to view your document.

Viewing Environment

  • Viewing environment: It shows the OS type and device visitors used to view your document.

  • Visited at: It shows the timestamp of when a visitor started viewing your document


Interaction analysis of individual visitors

Top pages

Understanding how your prospect viewed your document gives you valuable insights into what they are actually interested in. You can leverage this information to start a conversation, follow-up with related materials, or propose certain products.

  • Revisited page: It shows the pages viewed more than once.

  • Longest viewed pages: It shows the three pages those were viewed longest.

Link clicked

If a visitor clicked any links embedded in your document, it will show the links and the pages it was clicked on.

Compare with average

You can compare the visitor’s interaction with the average stats to analyze whether the visitor was specifically more interested in certain contents.


Searching a visitor

You can search visitors by clicking their name or using the search tab for a comprehensive view of their interactions. This allows you to analyze how the visitor interacted with your document over time.


Deleting a visitor

To delete a visitor from the list, click the ··· button next on the right corner and click Delete. Deleting a visitor will affect the document analytics such as total view counts or interaction graphs. You can use this feature to exclude bias or internal visitors.


Exporting visitor data

To export visitor data, please use the Export button at the top right corner. It will proceed download of DocumentName-Visitor.csv file. The columns in the file are as followed:

  • Email

  • Visit count

  • Interaction

  • Best page

  • Time spent

  • Communication

  • Download

  • Visited at
